Now he can be laid to rest, I suppose. And we can all have closure. At least that is what everyone says. Really, though, what the hell is this closure thing all about? People missed this kid. The whole community was up in arms trying to find him. No one gave up hope. And somehow, we lost him. A stupid, sensless loss. I do not believe that a bright young man would have walked in that door had it been marked. That makes it senseless. That's not the point, I suppose. The point is that we lost more than just Wade. Not that his loss isn't an enormous thing in and of it's self. We lost faith in the university. We were demoralized further by a beaurocracy that doesn't believe we can wipe our own noses. And me? I lost faith in the idea that if you have someone to miss you, ultimately you will be okay.
